eyesight undone

this streetside illumination sheepishly coats & slips down the panopticon walls, clinging
to their cheap seats behind all these snaking
walkways, blanketing below the parking
garages. each storefront discarded artifice, underneath.
the light rushes across the stairs, seething,
viewed. sneaking behind the ambulance
trailing off, this lumination clings, notices.
watching the light slinking off behind these
windowed walls like I find the warmth
drifting across my chest cavity, a caress, turned. some
parallel to the street’s own display cased
voice, a gong that rings through a
disputed church. and now I
look through its open door behind the city
notices and tape. the bannered profanity of construction materials, a jaw.
